Monali : Monali is one and half years old girl child. She was only six months old and under weight when she started attending our centre. Her mother works as a domestic help and a victim of severe domestic violence. Her father is a truck driver. Her mother was not ready to give anything but breast milk to Monali even after she completed six months. We counselled her many times but she used to say that I will come every three hours and feed her. They don’t give anything to eat or drink until the child is one year old she would say. But we started liquid diet like some soup and Dalpani etc any way. She started gaining weight slowly and we even started giving her egg or chicken soup after she completed one year. She is now out of danger zone. She is not malnourished thanks to her regularity.

She enjoys being at the crèche. She plays, sings and dances with other children. She is comfortable here with us like no other child. She is so used to the place that even on weekends she comes and sits outside the centre if the centre is closed. Her mother is happy that she admitted her in the centre.
